James Shearer and Zdzislaw Obodzinski Car Accident – Obituary News: In loving memory of Hammond, WI man identified among two killed in pileup crash on I-94 in St. Croix County.

According to Wisconsin State Patrol, a deadly pileup crash on I-94 in St. Croix County happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

The I-94 westbound lanes was slowed due to construction near exit 28.

According to State Patrol, a semi-truck struck a Ford F150 and another semi-truck after failing to notice the slowing traffic. The collision claimed the lives of the drivers of the Ford F150 and the colliding lorry.

Four other vehicles were involved in the chain reaction that resulted from the incident, several of which caught fire, according to the State Patrol. Six people who were injured have all been treated and released.

One of the affected semis caught fire beneath the WIS 128 overpass. The overpass was closed to traffic so the structural integrity can be assessed. I-94 westbound lanes reopened Tuesday morning.

Zdzislaw Obodzinski of Illinois, age 76, was the driver of the semi that caused the collision, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol. In the collision, he died.

James Michael Shearer, 46, of Hammond, was the driver of a Ford F-150 that was hit by the semi.
