Douglas County Fatal Shooting: The Douglas County Police Department says it is assisting the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office after a shooting involving an officer.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was shot after responding to a domestic incident at a residence on North Bear Drive near Kings Highway.
According to the preliminary information, a woman inside a house was shot, a man was killed, and the suspected shooter and deputy were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. It is believed that the victims and shooter are related.
The officer was shot once in the shoulder and twice in the vest and is expected to survive, according to sources.
The condition of the suspect is unknown.
