On Sunday morning, a man hailing from Pickering lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on a bustling highway in Scarborough.

In the early hours of Sunday, September 17th, at around 5 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) swiftly responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 401/Markham Rd. The incident specifically involved a motorcycle and occurred in the eastbound express lane.

According to investigators, the rider of the motorbike tragically succumbed to their injuries as a result of the crash.

In a recent development, authorities have taken the decision to close off the area to motorists. This move, made by the police, aims to ensure the safety and security of the public. As a result, a diversion has been put in place, redirecting traffic via Kennedy Rd.

As per the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the collision reconstruction members are currently engaged in documenting the evidence and diligently working towards determining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
