Vernon Gordon Jr. Death; Football Player Identified As Victim In La. School Shooting- Suspect Arrested
According to multiple news outlets, the victim of the Louisiana school shooting that occurred on Tuesday has been identified as a 16-year-old football player.
Vernon Gordon Jr. has lost his life following a shooting at St. Helena College and Career Academy in Greensburg. According to a report from WAFB, it was revealed that he was the nephew of the school’s principal and the son of an assistant football coach. According to a statement from the school district, two individuals were wounded in the shooting incident, with one student currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
According to WAFB, a 14-year-old student has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, and two gun charges. According to the St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office, the suspect has not been publicly identified as a result of his age.

Notably, Governor Edwards previously served as their representative in the state House of Representatives.
