Tragedy struck Providence High School in Charlotte as a student lost her life following a tragic crash on Sunday night.
In a recent incident reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, a 17-year-old driver identified as Gorden Fleming was involved in a collision on Raintree Lane. The collision occurred as a result of speeding, according to authorities. The impact of the collision was significant, leading to four individuals being transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Ella Lukse, a Providence High School 10th-grader was identified among the hospitalized victims.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has now officially confirmed the passing of Ella.
“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that one of our wonderful students, Ella Lukse, a 10th grader, has died after a tragic car accident on Sunday night,” Providence High School Principal Tracey Harrill said in a statement. “We are heartbroken by this loss of life and we grieve with her family and friends.”
According to police, excessive speed is being considered as a potential factor in this case. According to officers, it has been determined that Fleming was not impaired at the time of the crash. However, it has been confirmed that Fleming had consumed alcohol prior to the incident.
According to the CMPD, Fleming has been arrested and charged with driving after consuming under 21 and reckless driving.

The kid blew .02 3 HOURS after he killed that young lady. His father is a pastor at a local church and they have yet to apologize. They only cried in court when the victim’s family pleaded to not let that kid out of jail until their daughter is buried. Drugs were in the jeep too. He’d been thrown out of several schools for cocaine, stealing and other issues. His father stood up in court and remarked how his whole church was praying for their son’s release. Not once did he mention the young lady that was mowed down by his drunken son.
