Dallas Gun Range- John Edward Shaunfield Identified As Victim Killed in Attempted Murder-Suicide

In a tragic incident that unfolded on Friday afternoon, a shooting occurred within a Dallas gun range, resulting in the loss of one individual’s life and leaving another in critical condition.
According to Dallas Police, officers responded to a shooting incident at approximately 5:20 p.m. within the premises of the DFW Gun Range and Academy located along Mockingbird Lane.
According to preliminary information provided by the police, it has been reported that a man allegedly entered the business premises, proceeded to shoot a man who was present inside, and subsequently inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to initial reports from the police on Friday afternoon, it was stated that the armed individual had succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while the other individual involved in the incident had managed to survive.
In a recent update, authorities have confirmed that the victim has tragically succumbed to their injuries. Additionally, the armed individual involved in the incident is currently listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
In a recent development, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has successfully identified the victim from the unfortunate incident that occurred overnight. The individual has been identified as 24-year-old John Edward Shaunfield III.
No information regarding a possible motive has been released by the police at this time. The question remains unanswered as to whether Shaunfield was a staff member at the gun range.
