In a recent development, authorities have made public the identity of the individual who tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting incident on Hancock Street in Springfield on Sunday night.
In Springfield, a 29-year-old individual by the name of Emmanuel Hernandez-Garcia has been identified.
In the ongoing investigation of the shooting, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office has officially identified the individual involved on Friday.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, law enforcement officers were summoned to the intersection of Hancock and Union Streets in response to a report concerning an individual who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Hernandez-Garcia was discovered to be afflicted with a gunshot wound.
According to Jim Leydon from the Hampden DA’s Office, the individual was promptly taken to Baystate Medical Centre, where they tragically succumbed to their injuries.
As of now, there have been no reported arrests.
Both the Springfield Police Department and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office are actively collaborating on this ongoing case.
