Zafir A. Perkins Shot Dead; Teen Identified As Victim Shot and Killed Late Wednesday in Kansas City
In a late Wednesday evening incident, law enforcement officers swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a shooting at the intersection of 9th and Wabash.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement officials, a teenage male was discovered in a state of unresponsiveness, found lying within the confines of a parking lot belonging to a commercial establishment.
The victim was observed to be exhibiting signs consistent with gunshot wounds. In a tragic turn of events, responding officers swiftly took action by providing medical attention to the teenager until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). However, despite their valiant efforts, the young individual was tragically pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.
In a recent update on Thursday afternoon, authorities have confirmed that the victim of the homicide is identified as 17-year-old Zafir A. Perkins.
According to police, a shooting incident occurred on E. 9th Street in the 2500 block.
