Carlos Palacio Death; Identified As Victim In One of Two Overnight Shootings In Kansas City, Independence

Authorities have successfully identified the victim involved in one of the two shootings that occurred in the early hours of August 3rd.

In a tragic incident, 45-year-old Carlos Palacio met a fatal end after being shot in the 9800 block of East US 40 Highway in Independence, Missouri.

In a quest for answers, law enforcement officials are diligently conducting investigations into two separate fatal shootings that occurred at opposite ends of the metropolitan area.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, at approximately 2:15, authorities from the Kansas City Police Department responded to a distress call at the intersection of 18th and Askew.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 40-year-old male identified as Phillip Roberts. The tragic incident occurred in a parking lot, where Roberts was found deceased, having suffered from gunshot wounds.

Authorities are actively pursuing a suspect in connection with the shooting incident.

In a separate incident, occurring a mere fifteen minutes prior, a tragic incident unfolded in Independence, Missouri. A man was fatally shot and discovered in a parking lot, this time situated outside a business located in the 9800 block of East 40 Highway.

Upon the arrival of Independence Police, it was discovered that the suspect had already fled the scene. Detectives are currently engaged in conversations with witnesses who potentially possess crucial information regarding the shooting incident.
