Active Shooting In Birmingham; Homicide Investigation Underway After One Dead after 3 Shot
Birmingham officers were dispatched to the scene of a shots fired incident on Friday night. The incident took place in the 400 block of Goldwire Street.
Upon their arrival, officials were met with a scene that included blood and shell casings scattered on the ground. In the initial stages of the investigation, it has been determined that three adult males were present outside in the vicinity of the 10 block of 4th Avenue SW. At that moment, an unidentified perpetrator initiated gunfire towards the individuals.
The victims were transported to UAB Hospital by a private vehicle, resulting in the unfortunate pronouncement of one victim’s death. In a tragic turn of events, the second individual involved in the shooting incident has sustained life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, there is some hope as the third victim is expected to survive.
Currently, there are no individuals in custody. The investigation remains ongoing.
